My summary of Allegiant
Now that they have discovered life beyond their city limits, they also discover yet another corrupt government. Tris, Caleb, Tobias, Christiana, Uriah, Cara, Peter, among the many other Allegiants work together to stop this new found governments control over their city and the world as they know it.
My thoughts on Allegiant
Reviewing this book is a lot trickier than I imagined. This book was a lot more logical compared to the other two books. In Divergent, the city doesn't really make a whole lot of sense until after reading Allegiant. In Insurgent, Tris' choices feel very illogical, but in Allegiant they all make sense.
Overall, it feels as though more thought was put into Allegiant compared to the first two books, but in some ways Allegiant feels a bit repetitive. They already took down one government and finding out there's another more powerful government that's just as bad makes sense. There's logic in the storyline which is why I'm not annoyed by it, but it is repetitive. So, because of the repetition I applaud her ending, it was a risky choice, however, it made the book memorable.
Quotes
"I felt like what I have become is halfway between my mother and my father, violent and impulsive and desperate and afraid. I feel like I have lost control of what I have become."
"To me, when someone wrongs you, you both share the burden of that wrongdoing--the pain of it weighs on both of you. Forgiveness, then, means choosing to bear the full weight all by yourself."
"I belong to the people I love, and they belong to me--they, and the love and loyalty I give them, form my identity far more than any word or group ever could."
